Play Therapy Supervision and Consultation
Web-based consultation with a Gestalt twist!
The Registered Play Therapist credential is granted by the Association for Play Therapy (APT), an international organization supporting the field of play therapy. As per their website, APT defines play therapy as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained play therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.”
Current credentialing standards require applicants to complete 150 hours of play therapy-specific education from APT-approved providers and complete direct contact play therapy experience under the supervision or consultation of a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor play therapy supervision.
Renee provides individual and group supervision for the Registered Play Therapist credential with a focus on supporting individuals in the accusation and integration of Gestalt Play Therapy. She is a play therapy author and researcher and has been an APT-approved provider since 2011. Please contact Renee for more information or to schedule an interview.
Dr. Turner is also passionate about supporting Registered Play Therapists and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisors beyond the credential with advanced consultation and “supervision of the supervisor.”
