About Dr. Renee Turner
Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor.
Dr. Turner specializes in the supervision and professional development of post-graduates. She has 15 years of experience working in the areas of grief and loss, bereavement and hospice work, complex trauma, and identity and spiritual issues.
Promoting and increasing the field of play therapy is Dr. Turner’s passion. She presents locally and nationally on the ethical application of play therapy, sandtray therapy, and expressive therapies with children, adults, and families.
She actively provides service leadership with current appointments as the President-Elect of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and the Chair of the Association for Play Therapy (APT) Awards and Recognition committee.
Dr. Turner is a reviewer for the quarterly Play Therapy Magazine published by APT, an approved APT Education Provider, and is an APT Leadership Academy graduate.
In 2017, she was recognized with the Emerging Leader Service Award by the Association for Play Therapy for her continuous dedication to the field of play therapy.
She is also the recipient of the 2019 Outstanding Supervisor Award given by the Texas Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors.
